San Francisco is considering a city-wide ban on the sale of all pets except for fish, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The city's Commission of Animal Control and Welfare will vote on the ordinance tonight, but the San Francisco Board of Supervisors would have the final word on the measure. Area pet store owners spoke out against the proposed law, while shelter workers said the rule could cut down on the number of euthanasias performed, especially of hamsters.
