Long Island home to world's oldest dog

A Long Island, N.Y., dachshund is officially the world's oldest dog, according to Newsday. The dachshund, Chanel, lives in Port Jefferson Station, and her age, 20, has been verified by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Her owner, Denice Shaughnessy, 51, says throughout Chanel's life she has been fed a mix of human and dog foods and enjoyed massages after long runs. Chanel's veterinarian, Philip Zangra, called the dog's condition "miraculous." Chanel will turn 21 on May 8.
