What Would You Say to These Clients? Confident Conversations about Pain Management
As clients learn there are options for treating pain in their pets, veterinarians are fielding more questions—and better-informed questions--than ever before.
TRENDS online asked two nationally recognized pain management experts--Robin Downing, DVM, and James S. Gaynor, DVM, MS--to give us some tips for addressing clients’ concerns while steering the conversation back to its higher purpose: the best possible care for the pet.
Dr. Downing is an affiliate faculty member at Colorado State University, the president of the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management, and a Veterinary Medicine Practitioner Advisory Board member.
Dr. Gaynor is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists and the American Academy of Pain Management. He is also a certified veterinary acupuncturist.
